Following its successful deployment at the PPA Asia 1000 - MB Hanoi Cup 2026, MK Vision continues its partnership with the PPA Asia 500 MB Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 as the tournament's Technology Partner, contributing to a more professional and transparent competition experience.
The tournament will take place from August 6–9, 2026, at New Sports Club, City Park, The Global City, Binh Trung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. It marks the second PPA Tour Asia event hosted in Vietnam in 2026, following the success of the PPA Asia 1000 – MB Hanoi Cup in Hanoi.
Bringing together more than 500 athletes from over 20 countries and territories, the tournament further solidifies Vietnam's growing presence on the regional professional pickleball scene.
Hosting two consecutive PPA Tour Asia events within the same year highlights Vietnam's emergence as a key destination in the tour's expansion while strengthening the country's standing in the regional pickleball community.
An International Tournament Building on the Success from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City
After more than three weeks of registration, the PPA Asia 500 MB Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 has attracted over 500 athletes representing more than 20 countries and territories, competing across both professional and amateur divisions. The tournament offers a US$70,000 prize pool for the Pro category, along with up to 500 PPA Tour ranking points for the champions, underscoring the event's scale and competitiveness.
The tournament is expected to feature several internationally recognized players, including Collin Johns, former world No. 1 in men's doubles, and Wong Hong Kit (Jack Wong) from Hong Kong, a multiple-time PPA Tour Asia champion. Representing the host nation, Truong Vinh Hien is expected to reunite with Sophia Huynh Tran in the mixed doubles event. Other notable Vietnamese players, including Sophia Phuong Anh, Ken Tam, and Do Minh Quan, are also expected to deliver exciting performances.
As the direct successor to the PPA Asia 1000 – MB Hanoi Cup 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City tournament further demonstrates Vietnam's growing role in the PPA Tour Asia calendar alongside destinations such as Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Tokyo, and Singapore. It also provides Vietnamese athletes with valuable opportunities to compete against world-class opponents on home soil, thereby continuing to raise their international profile.
Beyond the high-level competition, the tournament places strong emphasis on infrastructure and spectator experience. According to the Organizing Committee, all 16 courts at New Sports Club have been upgraded to meet PPA Tour Asia standards, including one Championship Court, one Grandstand Court, and 14 Standard Courts. Every court is equipped with roofing and weather-protection solutions to ensure stable playing conditions throughout the event.
In addition to professional matches, the tournament will feature a sports and entertainment festival atmosphere through Pickletown, community engagement activities, and interactive fan zones. Matches will also be broadcast live on the PPA Tour Asia YouTube channel, New Sports, and the FPT Play ecosystem, allowing fans to follow the tournament from anywhere.
The successful organization of the PPA Asia 500 MB Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 is made possible through the long-term collaboration between UPA Asia, New Sports, and Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) in developing professional pickleball in Vietnam.
